"Django Reinhardt- Paris Swing" Fine-art print

Post by BluesBopHarry »

I got a beautiful surprise this morning when a package from Wayne Nakamura of hyperhipmedia.com came in the mail. An amazing fine print of Django, entitled "Django Reinhardt- Paris Swing" by Toronto-based artist Colleen Clancey.
It's an original art piece of Django depicted with characteristic petite bouche guitar, the Eiffel tower on the background.
Everything is of the highest quality: the inks, the paper, the colors are vibrant and well balanced. The elegant mood of the image made me think of Django's soulful solo to "Blue Drag".
This wonderful portrait is a limited edition of only 500 copies that will surely go fast and although the price tag might seem expensive to some, considering its quality and beauty, I think, is completely justified, a luxury every passionate Django admirer will cherish.
It came protected with fine tracing paper, inside a shipping tube, covered with bubble wrap, in a cardboard box, with an envelope from the artist and framing instructions.
I'm very proud to own a copy, mine's gonna be professionally framed and will grace a place of honor in my home for the rest of my life... In fact, since the picture is guaranteed not to fade for over 100 years, my family's next generations will enjoy it too!
Top notch.
Thank you Wayne!!

Wow. It's great people are integrating Django into the modern lifestyle by producing such works for the home. Unfortunately, for me, we don't have enough wall-space to accomodate such a fine print. BUT, I'd be really interested if someone could commission a set of fine china plates for my wall unit. Perhaps a limited edition with the faces of Django , Steph and the three Ferret brothers depicted? A marvelous idea and a real treat for any hotclub enthusiast. I'd even go for a set of Russian doll type figurines, whereby, you un-screw Django and out comes Baro, unscrew him, inside a smaller Matelo type figure, and so forth. Anyone else have any bright ideas for collectables?

What about a Boulou Elios Ferre salt and pepper set - except you'd never be sure what was gonna come out of them.

I think a cock ring inscribed with a moustache motif would be a seller.

I see on the website a reference to the artist's other accomplishments:
"With an encyclopedic knowledge of 20th century popular music, Colleen is also a successful and much sought-after, ballroom dance instructor."

 It's all getting a bit British isn't it?
moustache on a cock-ring? inspired idea. How about a moustache dangling from a cock-ring? like a french-tickler.
