Alyward Guitars Offer

Post by Caballero »

Well, my commissioned first laminate Aylward is set to plop on my doorstep within the next month or so. Rob phoned me to tell me he's doing a one-off deal to anybody interested. He's making 10 exactly the same and selling them, all-in (hardcase,pick-up) for £1000 each. Once they're gone, that's it for that price. He's sold 3 already, deal is £500 up front, rest paid on delivery. For more details, contact Rob.

Mine is. Push the boat out and mail him, demanding satisfaction to the egg or D question.

Done. My son's 6 months old now, so we'll be needing that 2nd guitar soon.

I play a guitar built by my friend, Peter Dalby of Sanlucar, Spain. I've been owed a guitar by Rob Aylward for nearly five years now. Hence the introduction of his laminates, which was my idea and instigation, I might add.
None of the 10 get to anyone before I recieve mine, his first, the to-be- cooly serial numbered, 00. Any week now I hear. I've also got him to whack in a Schertler combi-thingy. I shall put up a review when I get the thing. Should be good.

Well I can't quite match that, but I did buy a Headway SK60 today after Andy's recommendation.

I already have an Aylward 14 fret to the body D-Hole, and it's fantastic. I regularly get offered good money to sell the guitar, and so have taken to being a bit more discreet with the thing, rather than getting into a haggling situation !

However I shouldn't have bothered with the pickup. The guitar is too good acoustically to be good on a pickup, it's just too resonant and so feedback is a problem. Added to which I have grown to loathe piezos of every flavour, and rely on Stimer magnets for the sound. So the next one from him is going to be pickup free, and if I want serious ampage I'll use an archtop.

I've got an Aylward for sale if anyone's interested. Made in 1999. 14 fret oval hole. Solid BRAZILIAN Rosewood back and sides. Big tone pickup installed.

Hey Cab
How long have you been waiting? Did it match up to the original estimate of time?

It's just that we are talking about a new classical....
