I've been playing my 50335 constantly on gigs since I got it a couple of weeks ago. It has a magnetic pickup fitted since the photos on the website. The concept works great as a gigging guitar, both for straight jazz and GJ work. It still feels and sounds like a Mac but sits on your lap like a 335. The thing sounds great both acoustic and plugged in.
Its size and lack of wieght make it a great 'sofa' guitar also. I can't put the damn thing down. Full marks Dave.
BTW - yes I did pay for it - if you thought this a way of getting a free guitar. All praise is unsolicited.

3lb 2oz

Post by david_j_hodson »

Always good for the old ego to get unsolicited praise such as that. Thanks Andy. One point that others might like to think about. Even AFTER the PU's were fitted it didn't, if I recall, feel heavier than my Original 1933 Mac at 3lb 2oz. I wonder how many of these cheap imported copies come close to that. Perhaps a few of you guys would like to drop them on a good kitchen scale and compere.
Thanks also for pointing out MY guitars are PAID for and no deals done.
Well not since the prat you know about.

Hello,

Gitane DG255 weighs in at 4lb 4oz. Quite a porky fellow it seems.

Perhaps I should fit a set of 010 - 045s

:)

regards

Roger

You would probably find 6 oz of the excess is the plastic finish!
