Nylon that speaks volumes...

Post by Tipsy Jazz »

Hi,

I really love the sound of my nylon string guitar more than my macafferi, especially for hot swing, but of course the volume is practically non-existent.

Does anyone know of any nylon strings in the world that buck this trend, and are capable of playing at volume, without snapping?

Hi, I had a jam with a Dutch guy at Samoreau and he was playing a nylon with some sort of reverb chamber attached to the bridge.I found it a little difficult to play as it was in the way of my picking hand (maybe my technique) but it was certainly loud enough to be heard over two mac types although it did sound a little like a portable church.

I wonder if it was the old Aspri Reverb unit, it was spring reverb unit that clipped on the strings at the bridge, kind of a cool effect, you can find them on eBay from time to time very cheap.
