Aces. I wouldn't mind having a go on one of them. I do believe that Maccaferri also manufactured some mass produced plastic guitars too in the 50's-60's. He believed that great sounds can be achieved through using a cheap material such as plastic.

Hi!
I played a "Plastic Mac" in Andy's in Denmark street about 20 years ago. It did have a unique sound and i'm suprised that there aren't more like that. What we need is Plastic Selmer which is cheap to make and you can throw away after realising there was only one Django. (slightly urked)!

Did they ever make one from "Bakerlite" i'm sure i played one.

Ciou for now

I heard the program on Radio 4 - so I've mailed 'em already challenging them to produce a Selmer style plastic guitar!

Mario Maccaferri, after leaving the Selmer company, pissed off to the Ewe Ess Ayy and made around twenty trillion 'plastic' guitars and banjos from some dubious sounding material called Dow 'Styron' ........................total shit,,,,,,,,,,,,, amazing, you'd think that there'd still be a few million of them around to have a go on being as plastic's 'sposed to be innestructerble 'nall. :!:

I'm just toying with the idea of making one. I have F. Charles' plans and a friend who uses plastic sheeting for shop signs. All i need is some superglue and i'm away. yowser (god! i need a girlfriend).
I might knock one up while i'm at it.
