Ameranouche in NJ

Post by dropdeadblues »

Note: Ameranouche would like to welcome newcomers Ryan P. Flaherty on Rhythm chair and Ben Wood on Upright Bass to complete the driving American trio, Ameranouche. These two cats bring an intense love and dynamic to the band that coincides with Shepps lead playing. The trio will be releasing thier first album next month.

These guys are a great group. It should be noted that the Ben Wood playing bass for Ameranouche is a different person from the Ben Wood playing guitar in New York.

Yes, I play bass, not guitar. The confusion is rather funny though... But I do have to say, you have an awesome name. Ben Wood....it just rolls off the tongue. I'll make sure I go by Benjamin Wood to hopefully (although probably not) clear up the mistaken identity situation. Perhaps a Ben Wood ensemble is in order?

Keep your hands off our mighty bass player.
No just kidding. Hows it going in NY.

ameranouche in Mullica hills ... and at DFSW

Post by viejovato »

To all those who missed Ameranouche in NJ ... I'm adding my regrets to the big list of stuff you should have seen but missed ...

THEY WERE GREAT .... Ryan adds a wonderful driving but subtle rhythm section while Ben is just simply a bass player way beyond his 20 something years ... all-in-all a stellar lineup..
Dan Kinter was a treat as he sat in for the delightful ditty "Squirrels got me nuts' ....
Tom Mitchell out of Baltimore as well as the venerable Tony Hughs also sat in during the last set....

Indeed ... a wonderful night of high-energy GJ ...
don't forget .. Ameranouche!!! live under the beautiful Arizona stars May 12 - 14th ... Go here for details:
