concert titles

Post by jack »

Thanks for pointing out this show, I think I've seen it floating around for a while, but never made the time to see it all the way through. The titles are:
Them There Eyes(Pinkard, Tracey, Tauber) , Les Yeux Noir (Traditional), Waltz for Nicky (Richard Galliano), Daphne (Django Reinhardt), La Mer (Charles Trenet),
Sweet Georgia Brown (Pinkard, Casey), Minor Swing (Django Reinhardt), and an Improvised solo by Bireli.
He often does this kind of thing retuning his low e string and all for an encore. The first time I saw it, I think my jaw dropped to the floor.

If you're looking at the screen, it's:

your left: Stochelo Rosenberg
center: Bireli Lagrene
your right: Dorado Schmitt

Best,
Jack.

I must have played that video hundreds of times since discovering it a few months ago. I especially like Sylvain Luc's intro to 'Beyond The Sea' (La Mer...?), and Richard Galliano is very impressive.

1) Is this video available on dvd?
2) What's with the birds fluttering along the top of the screen during 'Waltz For Nicky'?

Thanks!

Someday all of our guitars will be owned by strangers who haven't been born yet......deal with it.
