I can't believe I just heard about this. Desmond has been one of my all time favorites since I was in High School. His is the most happy (if not on sad subjects) music in the Rocksteady to me. Any time you are at a house party in Tallahassee and it isn't going well no one is having fun or talk isn't...

It looks to me like an Aria pro, or a Vantage (essentially a Japanese factory made archtop) which in my oppinion are great guitars.

they sound great guys. Unfortunately with no US distributor and the exchange rate I probably wont get one, unless someone in the US has one for sale. Oh well.

I have heard little things here and there on the web about thim. I know a lot of guys in Paris use them. They sound pretty damn all right in video or recordings I have heard where cats are using them. I am in the market for a new guitar and didn't want to jump into anything although I think I have f...

I had in my store for a while. They aren't bad. They are at the very least comparable to the Epi Joe Pass. a good set up and some flats and the guitar is great.

Java Manouche

I already posted this on Michaels forum but have had no luck as of yet. Does anyone have music (dot or tab I don't care) for the Jo Privat-Matelo Ferret tune Java Manouche? I have a steady gig these days and we are using that for the name of our band. It would be cool to actually have a theme song :D

I do both and I don't think it is that tough. in my oppinion the picking technique used for Gypsy Jazz is just as aplicable to standard archtop playing. you just have to try it out there are no rules the jazz police aren't going to come (if they were I'd have been in the klink a long time ago). Just...

I have the Austuces book, I haven't looked at it in a while but from what i remember the notation for the pick direction is the opposite of what Michael uses so what looks like a notated up stroke is a downstroke and vice versa. I also heard that Samy Daussat was very meticulous about the transcript...

Everyone has listed great tunes. I know I am going in the opposite direction here but is anyone besides me tired of Sweet Georgia Brown? I don't really hate the tune and maybe I am weird but that tune just seems so schmaltzy and corny to me. I know it is a standard for a reason and it has certainley...
