I have that pattern posted here....I don't think there is just one "Gypsy" fingering. I learned it this way....from paulus I think. http://www.djangobooks.com/archives/2004/04/02/lesson_3_enclosure_pattern.html#000056 I've just looked at this lesson; shouldn't it read 'One step above and ...

There is no CORRECT fingering for this type of pattern; some players use 2 fingers, some 3 or all 4! A lot depends on where you're going afterwards. Try every combination you can think of; this goes for all other 'patterns' as well. You'll soon find one that suits you. 8)

This is SO true, there is FAR too much "look what I can do (badly)" amongst the wannabes.........The common trait with our heroes who can is humility.

In my opinion, it's that Maj 7th's sound so boring. Adding 6th and/or 9th just adds so much more texture.

Re: Can Beginners learn anything from Birelli?

......The point is: You take your lessons from sources that are motivating you and are accessible at the time. ......I'm just wondeing if any other new players to this style are actively studying what Birelli is playing and getting a good return on their time investment? Rocky The point about motiv...

Patenottes are cheap because they are roughly made and roughly finished, but most of all because they have a laminated top.

This seems to be a common problem with Argentines, both 10's & 11's. I've had exactly the same with both types, usually the A or bottom E, it is definitely the string and not a guitar prob. I remember Nev (from this forum) contacted Savarez and was given a whole bunch of freebies a couple of yea...
