No, I don't own a Mateos or a Gallato. I have heard great things about their sound, but I understand that some of the Gallatos have needed neck straightening. I was wondering if the Mateos guitars are prone to the same thing or if the potential problem has been corrected. Or perhaps it has not been ...

Gallato/Mateos problem?

I have heard mention of a problem with Gallato guitars sometimes having unstable necks that move and need repair. I was wondering...does this problem ever surface in the Mateos guitars as well, or has the problem been addressed by Geronimo and his staff? Any thoughts?

manouche guitar

I am happy to echo Ricardo's comments. I have had a Manouche modele jazz for a week and a half or so and am also very impressed. The tone is 100% crunchy selmer style and the guitar itself is very well made. You would never, ever guess that it was an asian import just by looking at it. (Of course, t...

Anyone played a Cordoba selmac?

Anyone played a Cordoba oval or D hole? Made in Spain and very affordable, it seems, less than a Gitane. Wonder how they sound and play...

Are Marin's guitars made of laminate or solid wood? I tried the Google automatic language translator and here is what I got for one of the guitars at Guitare Village: Copy Selmer, table spruce, back and fish-plates Indian purple wood, 14 boxes except small case stops, 2440 ? The secret to th...

Don't forget my man Oscar...

Here is a favorite of mine--not a gypsy jazz solo--but from a player influenced by Django. There is a version of Body and Soul by the King Cole trio featuring Oscar Moore where the world stands still and the sheer beauty of it always mesmerizes me. There are a few different versions done by the trio...

Stu, could you say a little more about your Olivier Marin? What does he use for woods? Can you order direct from him? How much are they? Thanks!

For this price range, don't forget Collins, Gallato and Hodson.

That would be Brad Davis, a well known country and bluegrass flattop flatpicker. He has worked as a sideman with Marty Stuart and Sam Bush, among others, and has a solo career as well.
