Dear Gypsy Jazz Friends, Robin Nolan is doing a guitar workshop in Cambridge on Sat 25th November as part of this year's Cambridge Jazz Festival. This is a fascinating thread. I've always found that the cure for wanting a more expensive guitar is to do loads of practice. I remember reading a John Etheridge interview where he was talking about playing with Bireli. The upshot was that Bireli hadn't practised for about 3 weeks but just picked up...

Dear All,

I'm quite a fan of the John Pearse buffalo horn picks (available from Hobgoblin last time I bought some). They have a index finger groove that helps grip in my opinion and they wear down smoothly.
I'm definitely going to look into those turtle shell picks though, thanks for the pointer!
