Double check your frets as they might be the cause. A friend of mine had the same problem and he got new frets put in and now has a much lesser problem with wear.

Not bad. There was a guy busking Bo Rap at Covent Garden. He sat cross legged on the floor with his guitar slung over his shoulder (so the body was in the air) TAPPING Bo Rap. I was so impressed I gave him a tenner. The girlfriend wasn't impressed by that at the time
