Jazz Partout: some new

Hi,

Jazz Partout's second CD L'assortiment is due out on mid April, it's a mixture of swing, waltz, latin, tango etc, all with GJ-flavor. I just extracted some examples on

Re: PA system??

Do any of you guys/gals use a PA system for live gigs and if so what do you own/use and what's your experience/feedback on it. I play in a group and were thinking of forking out for a PA system but are not sure what to shortlist - we are 2 guitars, double bass, violin and vocals. For a few years no...

Brilliant. I just got a 14-fret d-hole too and it sets off car alarms. In Finland. There's one quite cheap way to bring the volume down, if that's your biggest concern: http://www.djangostation.com/Pock-Sourdine-pour-guitare,1071.html I've got one and it works. And you can quite easily reproduce th...

" Raney had a wide-ranging influence among guitarists, who acknowledged him as the link that translated the messages of Parker, Gillespie, and Bud Powell for the guitar. " If you're looking for bebop guitar tracks to transcribe, then Raney's work with Getz, Al Haig, etc. in the late 1940s...

At Christmas MT's mother said she had noticed how much time he'd spent gazing lovingly at the record and had got him a present. He held his breath waiting for the guitar and got... a hand-knitted polo-neck sweater.... The follow up was that when MT became better known and told Val the story, Val pr...

Blue tak's good for posters but in my experience not so reliable for pickups. Anyway, my question still is current, has anyone ever seen a lefty Stimer 51? I know the company advertises them but I'd like to know if anyone's seen one. I'm now not sure that a right handed one on a lefty guitar is bet...

where's the part in 5/4? Just after the bit in 3/4 Every transcription I've seen divides it like you say: 3 + 3 + 3 + 5. I've never understood why, it's so much simpler 4 + 4 + 4 + 2 or 4 + 4 + 2 + 4. I'm pretty sure the players of QHCF didn't perceive it either as uneven number of walz mesures add...
