Try shooting them an email...Wayne there is a great guy and if anything has gone haywire he'll straighten it out. For what it's worth, he mentioned that he started shipping orders on Nov 4, and I saw that someone in Holland got theirs on the 10th.

Scot Wise has written about a 1960s album by Andre Dedjean that features Swing Gitan under the name Stephane Stomp; he might be the composer. For some reason, the forum isn't accepting my image upload right now, but you can see a record sleeve here.

best,
Jack.

Hi Keith,

Just thought I'd mention that you should be looking for "Selmer" style guitars, and not "Selma" style. Not trying to be a jerk?it just might make a difference if you're looking online.

Where are you located? I bet we can find you a guitar or two to try?

best,
Jack.

I've always liked the Limehouse Blues album; thanks for reminding me to go back and give it another listen. Teddy has been in touch to set me straight on the photo--the Kessel one is legit; I was remembering a fake "Django meets Oscar Peterson" photo (see below). Now what was this thread a...

For some reason my memory is telling me that photo was a doctoring job?two photos patched together. Might be wrong. Here's a bit from Paul Vernon Chester's site: BARNEY KESSEL Django's music became important to me many years after the initial exposure. When I first heard him I probably was incapable...

Still around, just not as much free time lately between gigs and job-hunting. I do miss my 3am gin and forum appointments, though... Jack, how close to Lenox are you? Used to be an actor, part of Shakespeare & Co..... Often thought of moving back. What's the music scene like? I'm about 45 minut...

 I don't think balls had anything to do with it, it was like, do you want this well-paid gig with the world's greatest living gypsy guitarist? ummm...yes please. I'm not a shrinking violet and what better way to get some real insight into the style? Dave gave it to me. For that, I'm eternally ...

I think what's happened with the two forums is that a lot of newer players naturally migrate to Djangobooks because that's where they bought their five-foot stack of books, and they have a lot of questions about p.23 or whatever. Then they stick around. So largely now I find that Michael's spot cate...
