Stochelo Lick on "Bossa Dorado"

Postby Swing This! » Sun Mar 23, 2003 2:52 pm

can anyone please help me figure out how Stochelo plays a lick that starts on a sliding diminished chord run and moves up to a Dm semi-bar on the 10th fret and appears to invlove his little finger stretching up to the 15th fret and back again in a rapid bossa rhythmn? I've got it on video, but it's a bit too fast for me to nail down, even when I slow it down!

cheers

I don't know if it's just the way Stochelo plays, but what comes to mind is something like....

----12------------12-PO--10-----------10--H-13----------- 13-PO-12-----
--------------10--------------------10-------------------10------------------
----------10--------------------10-------------------10----------------------
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-----------12----15---------15---sl------13-----------13-PO-12---------12-
-------10----------------10-----------10----------10-----------------10-----
---10----------------10------------10---------10------------------10--------
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-h-13---------13----I
------------10-------I
--------10-----------I for the Dm chord
----------------------I
----------------------I

Then do something similar on an E triad shape on the top strings and then a Gm6. What makes it so extreeemely hard to do is doing the rolls with an down-down-up pick motion....
