where to find a recording of Swing 48

Postby djangology » Wed Mar 12, 2003 8:38 pm

what CD's am I able to find the tune "Swing48" ?? I have a couple CD's with Festival 48, but I am seeking the elusive "Swing48". The only place I can see that it exists is on Integrale Django Vol 14, but is there any other place? Has anyone else recorded this tune?

I think the only other CD's with the Django version on are an impossible-to-get Jazz Time and the Mosaic 6 CD set.

Still looking- I've got just about every other Swing number, but you're right: 48 seems to slip through the cracks. Anyone out there got the Mosaic set?

I didn't check my collection properly. It is also on "Peche a la Mouche" Verve 835418-2. This is a great 2 CD collection that is still widely available.

An even cheaper alternative is the Verve "Jazz Masters 38" Django Reinhardt disc - it is also widely available and about half the price of the Peche a la Mouche set :)
