Bass lines

Postby TonyD » Fri Jan 09, 2004 2:23 pm

Hi there!

Anyone familiar with sheet music (tabs/notes) for the bass lines of gypsy music? Are there any books for sale? Or a website to visit?

Bought a double bass and am trying to follow Django's bass players and I need some help.

Thanks in advance,

Hello,
I have many books with Gypsy Guitar pieces yet , not really any bass lines, But of course having slaved through various transcriptions , the best way is always sitting down and playing along or maybe slowing them down ,
and then write them out in Tab or notation or just memorize them.
If I find something I'll let you know

cheers tombo

If you're a member of the Yahoo gypsy jazz group, you could look here:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/GypsyGuit ... ad2/files/

I can't vouch for any of the transcriptions, not being a bass player, but it might help anyway. What's there-only four or five tunes, I think-is listed as jpeg scans of bass parts.

Hope this helps,
Jack.
