groovy. What really caught my eye, though, was the awesome selmer style uke in the shop cabinet.
I desire that instrument.

Sorry to hijack the thread, but after a spot of google work I see that maurice dupont does a great selection of them. Does anyone have any experience of these? How do they sound?
I looked up hawaiian swing, but disappointingly it all seems to be lap steel.

....But how happy are we with the authenticity of David Reinhardt's rhythm playing?

I tried a Uke by Dupont at Samois very nice but also very pricey! I think it was abous 1200 euro but maybe that's because it was made from koa?

That reminds me, has anyone seen the clip on youtube of the private party with Bireli, Tchavolo, Dino M and others? its raging just for the fact that Tchavolo gives David a real hard time and it gets all weird and bad vibey.
Basically, Bireli's playing with violinist, Costel, and Tchav grabs a guitar and hands it to David and orders him to play. David ignores him and Tchav persists till finally David grabs the axe and puts it to one side. This makes Tchav go off on one, he's all like "bluuurrrggh bluuurggh" and moaning and bitching and pissed. Everyone else is trying to ignore him, it's really funny.
If y'all haven't seen it , I downloaded it and can convert it and whack it up here, if you like. lemme know.
