Django Drom - The Barbican

Postby Dennis » Fri Jul 16, 2010 8:34 am

Did anyone else go?

A great show - Lockwood, Bireli, Stochelo, Hono, nine guitars in all, two violins, accordion, clarinet, bass, cello (yes, cello) a singer and a dancer and evocative images and film of Gypsy life projected on a big screen.

(And a huge round of appause for the J'Attenderai film clip.)

What more could you want?

Programme attached.

'If you had a phobia of guitars, this gig would have been a nightmare.'

Lucky he's never been to Samois-too much guitar and nothing else is also my idea of hell-

I had no idea that the'herdie' was enjoying a bit of a renaisance. Also if you say Herdie Gurdy 3 times quickly you sound like the Swedish chef from the muppets.
