Found this rare photo of Django on a ladder painting the wall of an old house in a village in England. Photographer unknown!

What I find so incredible is that I often put up great and amazingly interesting photos of Django and nobody ever clicks on the damn things for a close-up.

Swing This puts up a load of old bollocks and dozens of you pillocks click on it!!

Fret ye not, teddy, for some reason it seems to be reflecting the thread views as I haven't clicked on it.

It's a little known fact that, like so many "professional" GJ musicians, Django had to have a job on the side to keep body and soul together. His speciality was painting and decorating.
You'll notice that on the thread about his UK tour the gig dates are quite far apart. This is because he was taking on a few whitewashing jobs in Sussex as they paid better than the gigs.
Stephane used to mix the whitewash and hold the ladder for him.
For all that, Django always hoped that he could give up his day job and play guitar full time. Sadly he died before he could fulfil his dream, and his early demise was particularly tragic for Monsieur Henri Leclerc of Samois who was left with a half finished bathroom.

Ah yes, I'd forgotten that - but that makes it even worse  as it means nobody even bothers to view my posts in the first place let alone click on the photos. :(

Brett thanks for the further clarification, I think though it was the other way round...he'd always hoped to give up his day job and take up house painting, in Sussex, full time!

...and to the chap who asked if this was Michael Caine...tis from an old film from a classic English director...but tis not Mr. Caine...first person to name the film will be sent a homemade tea cake! Cheers! :D

It's Walter Pidgeon touching up Mrs Miniver's front elevation.
