The Damaging Effects of Gypsy Jazz

Postby Teddy Dupont » Sat May 27, 2006 6:48 pm

I feel I must warn everybody about the damaging effects playing gypsy jazz can have on you in later life. Below is a photo of an old Roger Chaput one of the pre-war HCQ rhythm guitarists.

Christ, it's already happening to me!

Thats me on the far left back cleverly concealing a gin and tonic and a smoke behind my back.

Here I am again, the cat with the bloody leg, in normal garb. Noted for no other reason other thatn this is the best picture ever taken of me.

Me at the bottom of the page. Damn I look serious. You know I swing hard!

Is this guy playing the harmonica, or smoking a cigar sideways?

I guess you can dress like that when you're a bad ass. Didn't he kick Grappely's ass for shorting him on gig money? Sounds more like something Baro would have done, but if Grappelly had done that to Baro I don't think there would have been a post war HCQ!

Of course, Grapelly wore some pretty flamboyant clothes too (refer to the San Francisco shows, WOW!). But that was for an entirley different reason than badassery.
