Now this is a new one on me--a death metal band with a parrot as the lead singer:

Yes! Hatebeak! My friend has a copy of the 7" coming to him in the mail. Did you check out the Caninus stuff as well? Their singers are two pit bulls. Hilarious.

The world needs such great new ideas.

I'm currently seriously thinking of forming a Norwegian death swing outfit with a sheep on vocals, well I live in North Wales and there seems to be bog all chance of finding a human who knows how to play - besides which one is never alone with a sheep.

"Niche" Music Ideas

Norwegian-death-swing outfit, eh? Vocals by sheep? I was thinking of recording an underwater-jazz-theorbo album, playing the complete works of Yusef Lateef on theorbo. To distinguish mine from your typical underwater jazz theorbo recording, I'm planning to use a special altered tuning developed as the result of an argument between Pierre Bensusan, Martin Simpson and Carl Kress's grandson, which eventually erupted into a flurry of fisticuffs and broken Mackeson Stout bottles. For sonic purity I will string the theorbo with silk-wrapped Turkish-goat- entrail strings and use only the finest petrified walrus tusk picks. Think there's an audience for it?
