Gypsy Swing Fiddle at its best by the heir to Grappelli?s legacy
Tim Kliphuis Grappelli Workshop £30
The legacy of Stéphane Grappelli has left no violinist untouched. Dutch gypsy swing fiddler Tim Kliphuis,
well-known from his work with Fapy Lafertin, Angelo Debarre and Stochelo Rosenberg
and lauded as the successor to Grappelli?s throne, returns to the Quecumbar for a Grappelli style Workshop.
Fiddlers from all backgrounds (Swing, Folk, Jazz, Bluegrass and Classical) are welcome.
We will be looking more closely at Tone, Timing, Left hand and Bowing techniques on:
- Lady Be Good and Honeysuckle Rose - swing
- Black Orpheus - bossa (also called Orpheo Negro or Manha de Carnaval)
- Nuages - ballad
- other suggestions on the day
?Stéphane Grappelli?s style is alive and well in the hands of Tim Kliphuis.?
