Tea for Two, guitar solo

Postby stani » Tue Sep 16, 2003 6:11 pm

Since Tea for Two seems to be a slightly simpler solo piece than DR´s improvisations I´d would like to play this one. Anyone here who can give me a hint ( key, first chord, tab etc...) Thanks.

Try this for the chords:
Gm7 C9 | % | F6/9 | F/A Abdim |
Gm7 C9 | %
|F6/9 | B7 |
Bm7 E9 | % | Amaj7 A6 | % |
Bm7 E9 | % | A6/9 D9 | G6/9 C9 |

repeat first six bars (in red), then | Am7b5 | D7|
Gm6 Adim | Gm/Bb Adim| Gm6 | Bbm6 |
Gm7 C9 | % | F6/9 | % |

Did you have a particular recording in mind? If not, the basic melody can be found in dozens of songbooks at your local library. Good hunting.

Presumably Django's finger picked unaccompanied solo.

Ah. I see I've mixed up guitar solo and solo guitar...these danged eyeglasses. Maybe the chords'll still help as a sort of (very) rough guide, but you'll probably have to shift everything up to G, at least. The recording's higher, right? I've gotta get back to my records.
