How high the moon solo???

Postby FSUGypsyJazz » Tue Oct 05, 2004 4:45 pm

Has anyone ever seen a transcription of Django's solo on how high the moon? I have to play it in my school combo and I can't seem to get crap out of it. I know the tonal centers and what have you but it all comes out as arpeggios and licks (i.e. not very coherent or musical) I was hopping to glean some ideas from the Man himself. I saw the Romane/ Stochelo version in the powertab files here but I don't think me or my combo is ready for that yet.
Keep Swingin!

Get Transcrib! and load the Django version in at half speed and pick it out. The program is only $40 and way worth it. I use it all the time to learn runs from "the man him self" Also you can learn some of the horn hits as well and throw them in when others are soloing or as part of your solo... Fun stuff!
If you swing it... Bring it.
