playing Csardas

Postby FSUGypsyJazz » Tue Jul 20, 2004 11:09 pm

Hey everyone. I have been listening to quite a bit Schnuckenack lately and was wondering if anyone had any ideas on playing Csardas. is there a traditional style of Rhythm playing aside from la pompe (Michael Horowitz Maybe?) any ideas for basic chord progressions to get started with them?
Thanks

i haven't heard that song before but do you mean 2/4 rhythm by chance (which, in a way, sounds to me like fast reggae)?

not really any particular song. the rythm to me sounds like a very fast freddie green style "boom chick" style rythm but everytime you play a boom after a chick you change bass notes to make a walking bass sound this is only preiminary listening please correct me if I am wrong.

up/down stroke. Up on one, down on two. Still make it swingish though.
Try it against Dark Eyes first.
Alors! Un, deux...
